Welcome to the U.S. headquarters of Novo Nordisk, a global company dedicated to diabetes for more than 80 years! At Novo Nordisk, we are Changing Diabetes®; educating people, along with preventing, treating, and ultimately defeating this disease, is our vision, our passion, and our social responsibility.
Novo Nordisk’s research is highly dedicated to diabetes. We have developed the most complete range of insulin analogs, and we designed our advanced insulin delivery systems to be accurate and convenient to use. Committed to Changing Diabetes®, we want to get all people with diabetes in good control, and we are passionate about providing support in battling this devastating disease. That is why we created our National Changing Diabetes® Program, a comprehensive initiative to advance diabetes care through awareness, prevention, education, and policy change to improve treatment.
Novo Nordisk is different from other pharmaceutical companies; we consider ourselves a healthcare company. We are owned by the Novo Nordisk Foundation, which is dedicated to making scientific, humanitarian, and social progress. Additionally, to improve diabetes care and increase access in developing countries, we established the World Diabetes Foundation, donating approximately $100 million. Finally, our organization contains the Hagedorn Research Institute, which is supported by grants from the National Institutes of Health and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, as an independent basic research site seeking a cure for diabetes, and the Steno Diabetes Center, a World Health Organization Collaborating diabetes hospital.
Along with diabetes care , Novo Nordisk is present in other areas where we can make a significant difference such as hemophilia and growth disorders . Our milestones in these areas include developing our recombinant Factor VIIa and establishing the Novo Nordisk Hemophilia Foundation. For the treatment of growth disorders, we created our recombinant growth hormone with innovative delivery systems.
